White Tara

White Tara (sometimes Taras are considered female Buddhas) sits in full lotus position, her body white to represent purity. She holds a lotus in her left hand, her right extended in the mudra gesture of generosity. Seven eyes: on the soles of her feet, palms of her hands, two regular eyes, and one on her forehead represent her compassionate vigilance and ability to see the suffering of the world.
